Proper supervision is foundational to good social work—invaluable in keeping social work a constantly evolving and intentionally ethical pursuit. Through Arvah Mendelsohn’s clinical supervision program, Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW) supervisees will be provided a safe space and expert guidance to discuss and conceptualize their cases while they work toward independent licensure (LCSW-C).
Under BeWell Therapy, Avrah Mendelsohn, LCSW-C, provides supervision services to Maryland LMSWs, mentoring them and supporting them as they work to obtain the licensure required to provide clinical services to clients independent of supervision, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) status.
Outside of case reviews, some of the most common topics discussed in clinical supervision include, but are not limited to:
- Boundary issues
- Ethical issues
- Cultural competence
- Diagnostic skills
- Interventions
- Countertransference
- Work-related stressors
- Careers goals
Good supervision requires openness and experience from the part of the supervisor. LMs can earn up to six-hours per month under Avrah’s clinical supervision program. Avrah has personally supervised over one-hundred LMs through the complex process of achieving board certification to practice independently. Avrah knows how detailed and stressful this process can be. Working with Avrah can help you avoid so many of the pitfalls that people experience during this process.
If you’re a Licensed Master of Social Work looking to get feedback and support from an experienced professional supervisor, please feel free to reach out to us to discuss your supervision needs.
